On 25th July, Henan Yu Theatre Troupe II staged the new historical drama "Cai Wenji" in Binzhou Grand Theatre, Binzhou City, Shandong Province.The Yu Theatre Troupe II is the main body of the "Lottery Public Welfare Lottery and China Sports Lottery", and the implementation of the National Art Fund 2023 Communication and Promotion Funding Project.
Since the premiere of the Yu Opera "Cai Wen Ji", it has been deeply concerned by the majority of theatre fans, especially because the whole play has a refreshingly vigorous and majestic, deep and sorrowful, soulful and lyrical musical style throughout.The storyline is typical and the characters are distinctive, with emphasis on individuality of characters, simplicity of the stage art and the characteristic of writing, highlighting the artistic and cultural characteristics of the whole play; especially the in-depth portrayal of the inner worlds of the characters by the famous Yu Opera artist, Mr. Bai Qing, and other artists, which leaves a deep impression on the audience.
An audience member came from abroad said with great excitement after the show: "Ancient talent - Cai Wenji, her life is legendary. In recent years, through the Henan Yu Theatre II artists insist on continuous exploration, innovation and development，that Cheng Ying, Su Wu, Cai Wen Ji, Ma Benzhai ...... these historical figures who once reigned supreme and influenced an era, can be shown to contemporary audiences through the theatre stage. Such performances are very meaningful and make a considerable contribution to spreading the culture of opera and helping people understand history."
Next, the Henan Yu Theatre II will bring the Yu opera "Cai Wen Ji" into Hengshui City, Hebei Province, and will perform two consecutive shows at Hengshui Grand Theatre on the nights of 28-29 July.
